International co-operation

The Board is represented in the European Group of Auditors' Oversight Bodies (EGAOB). The Group consists of representatives from the member states' oversight bodies or, if a member state lacks an oversight body, by representatives from the relevant ministry. The EGAOB's mission is to function as an advisory body for the Commission in issues relating to the implementation of the 8th Company Law Directive on Statutory Audits of Annual and Consolidated Accounts, and to the system for oversight co-operation between the member states. The EGAOB shall also assist the Commission with the incorporation of International Standards on Auditing (ISAs), which, when approved by the Commission, will become part of the Swedish system for generally accepted auditing standards. The Board also has a representative in one of the EGAOB's workgroups (the ISA subgroup). The aim of the group is to help the Commission and the EGAOB to prepare issues concerning the introduction of ISAs in the EU.

The Board is also represented in the International Forum of Independent Audit Regulators (IFIAR), the purpose of which is to promote co-operation between oversight bodies across the globe and to make possible an exchange of information and experiences.
